Announcement for Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 and Windows 7 Users

 

 Microsoft will end its extended support to Windows Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 platforms on January 14, 2020

In a continued effort to stay on the cutting edge of technology and ensure your CoAction system is operating on the most ideal platform, CoAction will follow Microsoft's lead in ending support for Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 platforms.

 

What Does This Mean For You?

 You may not be able to log into CoAction using Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 or older operating systems after January 2020 or you may start to experience issues that our support and/or development team cannot diagnose within CoAction.

It is strongly suggested that customers migrate to a modern operating system such as Windows  8.1 or 10 to keep up with Microsoft's changes to the .net framework etc.

 

Why is CoAction No Longer Supporting Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008?

Microsoft releases updates to its platforms that keep them up to date. With Windows 7 being 10 years old and Windows Server 2008 being 11 yrs old, windows has stopped its extended support and has stated that no additional updates will be provided.

With our software continuing to evolve with the latest and greatest Microsoft offers, we cannot support clients using older operating systems as the functionality without the proper updates will start to drastically change the performance of the software.

What Will I Have To Do To Upgrade My Operating System?

FOR SERVER CUSTOMERS:

If you are replacing your CoAction Server - a server transfer is required and you must notify support@coactionsoft.com to schedule a server transfer ASAP.

If you are replacing a Client computer (non-server), contact CoAction support, using the CoAction Support portal or email support@coactionsoft.com to have one of our support agents re-install CoAction on your new client (non-server) Computer.

  

 

FOR CLOUD CUSTOMERS:

 

As no physical transfer is needed for Cloud users, you will only need to re-install the Citrix Workspace app to your new computer.

All credentials to log into Citrix and CoAction will remain the same.
